K-448 & 1984/PR Gazette #6: Initiating a Sustainable Revolution

A project by Wemanage Group

Sustainability has been a hot topic for years, with nearly every brand using (and overusing) this term. The team at Wemanage Group partnered with Milan’s Politecnico “Fashion In Process” hub on a series of workshops and seminars studying the best business cases and new fabrics, learning how to implement theoretical knowledge into production. Researchers taught us how sustainable materials are developed, minimizing damage and employing circularity instead of a linear method of production: from bio-based textiles to regenerated and endlessly recyclable materials, the possibilities are endless and exciting. Fashion’s approach must change from its roots, embracing an holistic approach, ending marketing-led greenwashing and igniting a kind of change that influences society, nature and culture. Awareness in consumers is increasing, and the fashion industry must be hungry for alternatives.
