K-448 Journal: Inspiration Flows from the Fountain in the Rose Garden
--
A clipping of prose opens the doors of imagination, painting a tableau of lives lived and stories untold; the inspiration for a collection of clothes that appeal to a sense of the romantic.
“And in the rose garden there was an old moss-stained fountain, a fountain that sang in the sunshine, and wept in the twilight, and sobbed in the night…” was the starting point from which K-448 Studio drew inspiration for a presentation of the Chateau Orlando Spring/Summer 2023 Collection.
Creative Director Luke Edward Hall describes the collection, “Blu is wearing the Daffodil Work Jacket, an embroidered cropped and boxy work jacket in off-white cotton. The narcissus embroidery is based on a drawing of mine, inspired by antique botanical illustrations and the narcissi I grow in our country garden… We added embroideries to the front and back of the jacket. I wanted these details to feel like souvenir patches, or badges, reminiscent of the ones I add to my own jackets.”
With photos by Jack Grange and films by Moses Fiddian Green, the collection was presented in person at Corso Como 10 in Milan.
