Towards Sustainable Fashion: Fashion in Process Research Lab within the Design Department at Politecnico di Milano collaborates with Wemanage Group
A project by Wemanage Group
Wemanage Group collaborates with Fashion in Process Research Lab (FiP) within the Design Department at Politecnico di Milano, on the series of seminars Towards Sustainable Fashion.
In recent years, sustainability has emerged as a major theme in the global debate on environmental, social, economic and cultural issues. Over time, and in particular way most recently, there has been a reconsideration of all production systems with more conscious and more accountability and transparency oriented approach. Fashion, being one of the largest, dynamic and influential industries but, at the same time, also one of the most invasive because of the highly impactful processes especially with regard to the consumption of the planet’s resources, has also had to rethink its approach to sustainability.
It has, therefore, become increasingly important to explore how sustainability can become a key component of brand strategies in the fashion industries.
For this reason, Wemanage Group is proud to announce its new collaboration with Fashion in Process Research Lab within the Design Department at Politecnico di Milano, on the initiative Towards Sustainable Fashion.
The initiative proposed by Fashion in Process Research Lab aims to provide an overall framework of the sustainable fashion scene that includes the protagonists shaping the entire production chain according to criteria aimed at identifying and defining the design, production and communication practices that are emerging or being implemented in a sustainable context.
The proposal is divided into three consecutive phases: a seminar activity for the staff of Wemanage, a mapping of competitors and the development of a service catalogue.
The topics covered will concern the theoretical framework with respect to the theme of sustainability in fashion with a holistic approach that will allow the topic to be treated, transversally, according to the four pillars of sustainability: environment, economy, society and culture.
This partnership will also include a mapping activity of realities that offer consulting services to companies in the field of fashion and sustainability, which will help Wemanage identify and codify those consolidated realities, or emerging trends, that have distinguished themselves for their contribution and innovation brought to support the fashion and sustainability sector.
Lastly, Fashion in Process Research Lab will help Wemanage Group develop a catalogue of sustainability consulting services for the group’s clients.
The goal of this collaboration is to bridge a gap between the world of academia and communication, aiming to provide space for reflection on themes that are increasingly important in today’s society. This is why Wemanage Group is proud to partner with Fashion in Process Research Lab within the Design Department at Politecnico di Milano a multidisciplinary research laboratory and a hub of culture-intensive industries, understood as products, services and systems with high cultural content, which will help the Group and its staff evolve and learn in order to provide full-circle services.
